Kristen Stewart is making news for something other than her infidelity. GossipCop.com reported that the actress landed the lead role in Lie Down In Darkness. She will reportedly play Peyton Loftis in the adaptation of William Styron's 1951 novel about a dysfunctional Virginia family.
Lynn Cohen will play Mags in The Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire. Mags is the 80-year-old victor from District 4 who's thrown into The Hunger Games Quarter Quell along with Katniss and Peeta. Cohen is best known for her role as Miranda Hobbs' housekeeper on Sex And The City.
A rep for Jason Segel has shot down claims that he's quitting How I Met Your Mother. Segel made headlines after the Austrian website Kurier.at quoted him as having said, "I've been playing the nice guy for quite a long time now. That's why I'm gonna quit How I Met Your Mother after the eighth season." However, his rep told TVGiude.com, "Perhaps something got lost in translation, but season nine hasn't even been addressed yet."
Supermodel Bar Refaeli and Shaun White have gone public with their romance at the Olympics. The unlikely pair, who have reportedly been dating since May, were photographed cheering on Michael Phelps at the 4x200m freestyle relay final earlier this week.

Boardwalk Empire actress Kelly Macdonald is pregnant. Red magazine reported that the actress and her husband, Travis bassist Dougie Payne, are expecting their second child in December. The couple has a four-year-old son named Freddie.
NBC has apologized for its gaffe earlier this week, when they leaked news of Missy Franklin's gold medal during their nightly broadcast -- before the race aired on TV. On Monday the network showed a promo for the next day's Today show that featured an image of Missy with a gold medal hanging around her neck and a clip of her hugging her parents. A voice over said,"When you're 17 years old and win your first gold medal, there's nobody you'd rather share it with." An NBC Sports spokesperson in a statement afterwards, "Clearly that promo should not have aired at that time. We have a process in place and this will not happen again. We apologize to viewers who were watching and didn't know the result of the race."
Patrick Dempsey may have spoiled a major storyline on Grey's Anatomy. Just a week after Eric Dane confirmed that he would be leaving the ABC drama, his costar posted a telling photo on Twitter. Dempsey tweeted a picture of Dane lying in a hospital bed with his eyes closed. The photo was soon deleted and replaced with the message, "I just was told to take photos down ? Abc is watching." Meanwhile, show creator Shonda Rhimes recently told EW.com that "viewers should assume nothing about Mark's fate in light of Dane's exit."
Sofia Vergara's son Manolo Gonzalez, 19, has confirmed that his famous mom is engaged. It's been widely reported that Nick Loeb popped the question to the Modern Family star during her 40th birthday trip to Mexico last month. In his weekly YouTube series, Manolo aired footage from the family vacation -- and discussed his mom's special occasion. He said, "Then one of my mom's dreams came true. As a little girl, she always wanted to go to the top of the pyramids. Unfortunately, people are not allowed to do that anymore. But since it was her birthday, her team worked for months on end to get her special permission to go up!"
Chelsea Handler is single again. The New York Daily News reported that Chelsea and her on-off beau Andre Balazs have broken up for the second time in a year. The couple called it quits last November after nearly a year of dating, but got back together this past February. A source told the Daily News, "It was amicable. They're both adults, but it just wasn't working, and it was too much back-and-forth (travelling)." Handler is based in Los Angeles, while Balazs primarily resides in NYC.
Lindsay Lohan is battling a paparazzo who accused the actress of hitting him with her car in 2010. Grigor Balyan sued Lohan last January, claiming Lindsay's driver struck him as they were leaving a nightclub. Lohan's attorney Julia Azrael filed a response, denying "each and every allegation" made in Baylan's suit -- including that he "sustained damages in the sum or sums alleged." Lindsay claims that Balyan was "negligent in his conduct at the time of the accident and carelessly put himself near a moving automobile in order to photograph [Lohan] and that [Balyan's] conduct was the cause of his injuries."
The studio executives behind Twilight claim that the opening of Breaking Dawn Part 2 will go off as planned this fall, despite the recent drama around stars Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson. In the wake of speculation that the two might not be able to promote the film together, the Summit marketing president said, "While it is studio policy not to comment on the personal lives of actors, Summit is moving full steam ahead and looking forward to this November's opening of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2. We are confident that the film delivers amazing entertainment for our passionate fans and general audience alike."
